The Kansas City Barbeque Society's "Team of the Year" Mike and Debbie
Davis (Lotta Bull) just completed their first "Technique Cooking Class"
Mike and Debbie compete under the team name of "Lotta Bull" and after winning
the KCBS Team of the Year decided to hold a cooking class. The
Lotta Bull
Technique Cooking Class was held at the BBQ Hill Pavillion in Lynchburg,
Tennessee March 16 and 17th. It was a "Sold Out" event shortly after
starting a banner advertising campaign with
BBQ ADS.com. The
banner advertising ran on several barbecue web sites including the BBQ Forum and
the KCBS web site.
The "Technique Cooking Class" was attended by some of the best competition
cooks in barbecue. This was not a class for the beginner and it was billed
as:
This is a “technique only” class for the serious cooker,
participating in competitions sanctioned by the
Kansas City Barbeque
Society. This class will not be about how to setup a kitchen or a
wash station . . . you already know all that . . . and it is not a recipe class.
It is "how to" class designed to give your barbeque an edge over the
competition and that little something extra you've been missing. Following the
schedule of a real cook-off, the class begins with preps on FRIDAY and ends with
the turn-in on SATURDAY. You’ll learn the "how's" and "why's" behind Mike's
award-winning cooking techniques and the secrets behind Debbie's presentation.
You can read some of the comments that were posted about this Technique
Cooking Class by Lotta Bull, on
The BBQ Forum including the comments of Scottie Johnson (Grand Champion of
the prestigious Jack Daniel’s Invitational barbecue contest in 2006) who
attended the cooking class. Scottie posts messages to the BBQ Forum under
the name CSC BBQ Team name. CSC stands for
Cancer Sucks Chicago
a foundation that Scottie has formed. Scottie is one of the most prolific
posters to the BBQ Forum.
